St. Ambrose Academy (SAA) is hiring! SAA meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:45am-2:35pm at the former Assumption School in Bellevue; we now also have staffing options for Tuesday and Thursday, with our 4 day Montessori program. We offer flexibility in scheduling with the option to teach as little as one or two classes, a half day, one full day or even up to two whole days depending on your availability. Current Positions Needed

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd – Substitutes – Levels I through III: To support the Lead in order to listen to God with children (Grades Prek – 6th Grade) within the prepared environment of the atrium so that children may fall more deeply in love with God. This would be on an as needed basis. You would be added to our sub list and contacted when a need arises. Training Provided/Required. 

IEW Teacher/Substitutes: Plan and present IEW lessons to students (Grades 4-7). Duties include lesson planning, grading assignments and quizzes, and tracking students’ progress. Training provided. Note: Substitutes will be added to our ‘on call’ list and contacted as needed. 

Hall Aids and Substitutes: Oversee and provide assistance to students as they make their way through the hallways; maintain order and assure students follow proper hallway etiquette. Note: Substitutes will be added to our ‘on call’ list and contacted as needed. 

Nursery Staff Substitutes: To provide dependable, safe, secure and nurturing care to the children, ages 0 through 3 years old in a clean environment. Note: Substitutes will be added to our ‘on call’ list and contacted as needed. 

Substitutes (All positions): You will be added to our ‘on call’ list of substitutes (the subjects and grades of your choosing) who are able to fill-in for teachers or support staff positions. 

Positions Needed for 2024-2025 Academic Year

Principal: Someone to oversee all school operations, including daily school activities. They coordinate curriculums, manage staff, and provide a safe and productive learning environment for students. Please see attached for a more detailed job description. 

Science Teachers

  • Middle School science teacher (grades 6 – 8)
  • High School science teacher (grades 9-12)

Elementary Teachers (Grades 1-3): Lead teachers to cover all core subjects in elementary grades (multiple positions available).

High School Math Teachers (9-12): Looking for teachers for various high school math classes, including; Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus.

Art Teacher (4th-8th): Provide instruction in a number of creative and challenging activities aimed at children in grades 4-8. Develop daily lesson plans and introduce students to a number of traditional art forms and mediums.

P.E. Teachers Lead Substitute: Taking on the lead of P.E. Teacher as needed. Responsible for organizing innovative games and challenges that promote physical activity among all students from grades PreK-8.

P.E. Teachers Aide Substitute: Assist the lead of P.E. Teacher as needed. Responsible for organizing innovative games and challenges that promote physical activity among all students from grades PreK-8.

Montessori Primary Aide Substitutes: Your responsibilities as a Montessori teacher assistant are to help the teacher prepare activities and lessons for the day, monitor children as they work and play, and record observations and notes about student progress.Training Provided. NOTE: This position has the potential to be 2 half days up to 4 full days (M-Th).
